About Doomed

Back when Flash games were a regular part of browsing, Doomed was one of those straightforward action titles you'd find. It came out in 2005, made by a developer named Evan Miller. The presentation was simple, just a dark maze viewed from above, but it got its point across quickly.

You control a lone soldier trapped in a dungeon. Your job is to clear each room of every monster before the doors unlock, moving you on to the next. You move with the arrow keys and aim your gun independently with the mouse, which lets you strafe around enemies while firing. The rooms are randomly generated, so the layout and enemy placements shift every time you play. The pace is relentless; waves of skeletons and other creatures pour in, and you're constantly circling, backing into corners, and managing your limited ammo. It feels tense and immediate, a pure test of your reflexes in a closed space.
