About Diamond Mines
Diamond Mines was one of those simple, absorbing games you'd find during the Flash era. It didn't try to be anything more than a straightforward puzzle, which was part of its appeal. You'd load it up in a browser window, and for a few minutes, the rest of the world would fade away.
You control a small character, often a miner, moving through a grid of dirt and stone. Your job is to dig out every diamond on the level. You chip away at the blocks beneath your feet, creating pits and pathways. The immediate danger comes from the loose stones above; if you dig out the ground supporting one, it falls. Getting caught underneath means starting over. The levels get trickier, introducing elements like unbreakable rock or diamonds placed in precarious spots. It starts calmly but demands careful planning later on. The game feels like a quiet, focused race against your own mistakes.
