About Bombs Away
Bombs Away was one of those simple, silly games that felt right at home in the Flash era. You played as a seagull, and the whole point was to cause a mess on a crowded beach. It didn't take itself seriously, which was part of the charm. You just loaded it up in your browser and got straight to the nonsense.
You control the seagull with the arrow keys, weaving between umbrellas and beach towels. Your objective is to drop your, well, bombs on the tourists below. They don't just sit there, though. They'll throw things back at you, like frisbees or balls, and getting hit costs you one of your three lives. If you run low on ammunition, you can dive down to rummage through trash bins for food to reload. The pace is quick, and the screen gets chaotic as you dodge projectiles while trying to line up your next target. It feels like a frantic, low-stakes game of aerial tag where you're the one making all the mess.
