About Beat The Meter

Beat the Meter was one of those simple, frantic games you'd find during the Flash era. It captured that specific feeling of a small, single-screen challenge designed to eat a few minutes between other tasks. The premise was straightforward, a familiar slice of life turned into a race against time.

You control a gas station attendant. Cars pull in, and you must guide your character to a pump to start the fuel. The core tension comes from watching the meter climb. Your goal is to stop it exactly at ten dollars for each customer. If you're late, the pump overflows. This creates a hazardous spill that costs you money, and you must use one of your limited buckets of sand to clean it. The pace is relentless, with new cars arriving as you're still managing the last. It feels like a constant, escalating scramble to keep everything under control before it all falls apart.
