About Bass Fishing Pro

Bass Fishing Pro was one of those games you'd find on a Flash portal in the early 2000s. It didn't try to be anything more than a straightforward fishing simulation, and that was its appeal. You loaded it up in your browser, and for a few minutes, you were just out on a quiet lake.

You control a small boat from a side view. The main goal is simple: catch a set number of bass before your time expires. You move the boat left and right with the arrow keys, searching for ripples on the water's surface that hint at a fish below. Then you use the up and down arrows to lower and raise your hook, trying to get a bite. The challenge comes from the timing; you have to set the hook just right when a fish nibbles, or it gets away. The game moves at a deliberate, patient pace, but the clock adds a constant, quiet pressure. It feels like a test of your attention more than your reflexes.
