About Basketbots
Basketbots was one of those games you'd find in the early 2000s, tucked away on a Flash gaming portal. It had that simple, blocky look common to a lot of browser games from that period. You loaded it up, and it just started. There wasn't much fanfare.
You control a small robot on a platform at the bottom of the screen. The goal is to shoot a basketball into a moving hoop. You move left and right with the arrow keys, and press the spacebar to launch the ball. The hoop drifts back and forth, sometimes changing speed, so you have to time your shot. Points are scored for each basket, and you need to reach a target score before the timer runs out to advance. The game gets faster as you progress, and the hoop's movement becomes less predictable. It feels like a test of rhythm and patience, a straightforward task that becomes surprisingly tense.
