About Attack Of The Sprouts

Attack of the Sprouts was one of those odd little games you'd find during the Flash era. It appeared around the holidays, a time when many simple, themed games would pop up on portals. The premise was straightforward and a bit silly, which fit right in with the casual, experimental spirit of web games from that period.

You control a character at a dinner table, using the left and right arrow keys to move back and forth. Your goal is to protect your Christmas meal. Sprouts fall from the top of the screen, and you have to click on them with your mouse to shoot them down before they land on the food. The pace starts slow but gradually increases, with more sprouts falling in quicker succession. It creates a simple rhythm of movement and clicking that becomes surprisingly tense. The game feels like a frantic, lighthearted scramble to save your plate from a green vegetable invasion.
