About Ancient Cities
Ancient Cities was one of those Flash games you'd find on a school computer in the mid-2000s, a simple distraction tucked away on a gaming portal. It came out in 2005, a product of that era where a single developer could create a whole world in a browser window. You loaded it up, and for a few minutes, the classroom faded away.
You control a lone explorer, clicking to move him through dense, green levels. Your job is to collect scattered gold coins while avoiding the wildlife that patrols the paths. Touching a snake or a panther means starting over, so you learn to watch their patterns and time your runs. The main goal is straightforward: gather every coin in a stage to unlock the next. The pace is quick, with each attempt lasting only a minute or two, but the challenge comes from memorizing enemy routes and finding the safest path through the foliage. It feels like a cautious, quiet race against the clock.
