About 7 Seas Estates

7 Seas Estates was one of those quiet, straightforward games you'd find during the Flash era. It didn't try to be anything more than a simple economic simulation, a digital version of flipping properties. You could lose a good chunk of an afternoon to its repetitive, almost meditative cycle without ever feeling like you were on an epic adventure. It was just there, a reliable time-passer on a site full of more frantic games.

You control a cursor, clicking to buy and sell a series of houses along a coastal street. The core loop is watching a price ticker at the bottom of the screen. When you see a low price, you click a house to purchase it. Your goal is to wait, sometimes for just a few seconds, for that property's value to climb before selling it for a profit. The money you earn lets you buy larger, more expensive houses, which in turn yield bigger payouts. The mechanics are bare bones: you watch numbers, you click, and you watch your cash total grow. The pacing is slow and deliberate, with no real time pressure or enemies, just the gentle risk of buying before a price dip. It feels like a very patient, very simple game of watching paint dry, if the paint was a fluctuating real estate market.
