About Star Lords

Star Lords is a galactic empire building game where players begin with a single planet. The objective involves expanding control through colonization, technological research, and military development.

Multiple alien civilizations, generated randomly for each session, act as opponents to the player's expansion. The game shares core mechanics with the later title Master of Orion, though it is noted as being less refined. It was made available as freeware in 2001.

Its historical significance lies in its status as a prototype, developed prior to Master of Orion by Steve Barcia of SimTex. The game is presented as an artifact for those studying the evolution of the genre.
