About Snood

Snood is a DOS puzzle game where players fire colored shapes from the bottom of the screen into an overhead grid. The objective is to clear the grid by making groups of three or more matching colors connect, which removes them from play.

Any shapes that become disconnected from the ceiling and the main cluster will also fall away, a key mechanic for creating chain reactions. Each unsuccessful shot that fails to remove blocks advances a meter, and when it fills, the entire formation descends one level. The game ends if this descent pushes blocks below the play area.

Players can choose from five skill levels, with skull blocks appearing from medium difficulty upward that can only be cleared by being dropped. Additional modes include fifty specific challenge levels and a Journey mode that samples one stage from each difficulty tier, making the overall progression challenging.
