About Skunny: Lost in Space

Skunny: Lost in Space is a DOS game that adapts the mechanics of Moon Patrol into a new narrative context. The premise involves the theft of all TV satellite dishes by creatures called Schnozes, leading to the capture of astronauts on the Moon. The player controls secret agent Skunny Hardnut, who must rescue these astronauts and recover the stolen items.

Gameplay involves navigating a Moonbuggy from left to right across each stage. Players manage limited ammunition and energy for the vehicle while using its twin lasers to engage enemies and perform jumps over craters. Scattered items that restore health, provide extra lives, or replenish ammo can be collected during the journey.

A feature of the game is the ability to select any of ten levels from the outset, though the shareware release restricts this to two. Progress can be preserved through an automatic save function that activates when a player exits a level during a session.
