Harpoon

Review
Also known as
GIUK Battleset

This modern naval simulation challenges you to master over 100 authentic weapons and sensors across 13 dynamic Cold War scenarios.

Harpoon, a naval wargame by Three-Sixty Pacific, was first released for DOS in 1989; the GIUK Battleset was an expansion, not a separate original release.

About Harpoon

Harpoon is a modern naval battle simulator for DOS, derived from a 1980 board game by Larry Bond. The simulation focuses on Cold War era conflicts, offering thirteen distinct scenarios where various factors can influence the outcome.

Players have access to an extensive and authentic selection of over one hundred weapons systems from both Soviet and NATO arsenals. Tracking enemy forces requires the use of different sensor types, including radar and sonar. A built in database provides crucial technical information on unit and weapon capabilities for reference during play.

The initial release centered on a primary operational area known as the Greenland/Iceland/United Kingdom Gap. This core battleset was later expanded through additional data disks, and a scenario editor was made available for creating custom engagements.
